1. In your own words, list and describe the four stages of the growth of law.

  2. 1. Quid Pro Quo- Revenge is taken for wrongs done.
    2. A new person or group takes charge and gives out money and goods in exchange for revenge.
    3. Court systems, made up of lawmakers, is formed to govern and create laws.
    4. New laws are formed to prevent wrongs from occurring again.

    2. Prizes of money or goods are given instead of revenge.
    3. Court systems are made.
    4. A central authority figure intervenes to prevent and punish bad things.

    2. Leader: Someone takes control of the situation
    3. Courts: System of prosecuting people for their crimes
    4. Laws: They are created to keep things in order and prevent chaos. (to keep everyone safe)

  5. Quid Pro Quo: If a crime is committed to someone, they have the right to seek revenge on said person.
    Sovereign: A single person takes control of the situation but they do not have true governing power.
    Courts: A panel of people are selected to divide the situations and make decisions.
    Laws: A central figure takes control and they establish set of laws for the country that decide what people can or can't do.

    Substitution is the act of paying and/or rewarding people to prevent acts of vengeance.
    Court systems are made to bring wrongdoers to justice.
    Laws are made to prevent wrongdoings.
