  4. The article is about two people who were in a contract to get married. They both agreed that the property obtained before marriage would not be split between the two, but anything after marriage would be split equally. They started arguing over whether or not increases in value of the property obtained before marriage would be subject to sharing. The court ruled that the property fell into two categories: property obtained after marriage and property obtained before marriage, and that the contract was not ambiguous. This is useful to know so you can determine how the courts will decide if you have a dispute in your marriage contract.

  5. A couple decided to enter into a marriage contract. They both decided that anything that was bought before they got married would not be included in the split. But, anything that was purchased during the marriage would have to be split 50/50. They started arguing about the increases in value of anything before marriage would have to be split. The Couple went to court and the court decided that the property went into two categories. Property purchased before and after marriage. This example gives you more information about fights over marriage contracts.

  6. This article is about a couple that entered a contract to get married. When they were married they agreed that any property before marriage would stay with them if they got a divorce. After marriage, the obtained property would be split EQUALLY. They began to argue and the court rules that there were two categories. But the contract had nothing regarding the matter of shared items that increased in values since the marriage.

This is important information for once you get married and have such a dispute and now you know how the court will look at it. You also will know to be very specific in your contracts to prevent such a dispute

  9. The title of the article, "Interpreting a Marriage Contract - What's Fair Isn't Always Appropriate" means that may people aren't always met with what they anticipated. They sometimes may not be able to get the things that they want. In this case a recently divorce couple are having a discrepancy over what they should get out of the divorce. In many cases, the court's decision may be in favor of one person and be completely inconvenient to the other person.

  10. This article is about a couple who entered a contract together stating, that if divorced they would split all these equally that they had together during the marriage, but the contract never said anything about items increasing in value. Which has lead this ex-couple to this situation. This will help me in the future because now I know how contracts work exactly and that I need to write any and everything down. That may or may not happen.

This article is about a couple who signed a contracting saying they would split everything equally but when it came to the items in increasing in value the contract never said anything like that. So when they came to the court they realized their mistake this will help me because now i know to always fully understand a contract before actually signing it.

  13. This contract is about a couple who split and who entered a contract saying that if they got divorced they would equally split the items that they had during their marriage. Anything they owned before their marriage they would not split between them. Since they kept to continue to argue about the items increasing in value they would split the items into 2 categories ; 1 being the items before they got married and 2 being the items that they got during marriage.

  15. These two people entered into a marriage contract, a contract was signed stating that everything gained during their marriage would be split upon divorce. They eventually did get a divorce so now they have to split everything into: what they had before and what they have now. The gained will be split 50/50 among the both of them. In the future you must read things before agreeing/signing to them because they can come back to haunt you later on.

  16. This article is about a couple that signed basically a prenuptual contract that stated that property after marriage will be split equally but everything before marriage will not be. there was a dispute because the contract didnt cover property that gained value during marriage. the court settled it by placing items into 2 catagories. property before and after marriage, and split it like that. its benefial to know since we will be getting married in the near future if we want to keep our things.
