  1. In a small island in the Bahamas, there was a small country that was ruled by a strict government. The government was oppressive and the country was starting to fall into poverty and starvation. One day, after the government refused to grant aid to residents after a hurricane, the residents decided to fight against the government. A year of fighting between government supporters and rebels occurred before finally the government decided to step down in exchange for peace. The rebels quickly took charge and set up a ruling council, which ordered an end to all fighting and began trials for previous government workers or supporters. Laws were passed in the next few years which would help boost the economy to new heights. A small subsection of the ruling council was set up to prevent any new oppressive leaders from rising to power. That subsection made sure that the government wasn't becoming too corrupt, and it would help keep stability in the country for future generations.
Each stage of law can be seen in this scenario. First, individuals took revenge for wrongs done to them by fighting against the ruling body. Then the government exchanged power in return for peace, and a new sovereign took charge. Next, the rebels set up courts to rule citizens and hold trials. After the courts were set up, new laws were passed to prevent such crises from arising again. A hypothetical fifth stage was reached, where another ruling body was set up to prevent the courts from becoming corrupt. This new ruling body would watch over the lawmakers and keep them in check.

    1. The first stage does not have a ruling body or organized government. It is at the second stage that a supreme ruler emerges.

  3. My country, Genopia, has a history of natives using a system of revenge to get justice. There is a long history of natives being threatened and families being harmed by newcomers. In retaliation the natives had begun to set fire to the newcomers' homes. Soon one person from each side decided to come together and take control of the situation. To punish those who go against them, my country has rounded up a group of unbiased people to prosecute those who challenge them. Soon many realized that this was the system we needed to keep control and wanted to be able to vote on laws and leaders to keep everything in order. Soon a system was created and with that system came rules and laws. Soon there was less chaos and a better understanding by everyone in the country that their actions would have consequences. To take it a step further, the leaders in my country have decided that knowledge of the law was mandatory and provided mandatory classes to high schoolers and college students. Being arrested and unaware of the law will make you even more guilty. A clear understanding and knowledge of the law and consequences of breaking them should help keep the crime rates down and so far it has worked brilliantly.

Being stuck in the first stage would not be a good idea because everyone would be killing each other and there would be chaos. No one would be safe. Being safe and having a system to prevent and punish people is necessary in a civilization.

  4. In the country of Ox, no solid government/parliament has been formed. Groups of people self govern themselves and they practice a quid pro quo style of governing. People convicted of crime (theft, murder, etc.) will be punished by some sort of public execution/revenge. Until a governing body is established, public displays of revenge will continue to occur for all sorts of crimes. People will continue to have revenge on each other to compensate for wrongs done to them. If someone commits murdered, they are sent to death. If someone commits thievery, their hands/arms are removed for all to see. All other crimes have specific punishments decided by the people of that governing body. Eventually, in the wake of the violence, a sovereign leader will be established and become a monarch of the country. This leader shall rule through wealth instead of power, they still have no solid governing hold on the country so the revenge style of "government" shall continue. This monarch will begin to compensate crimes with treasures in an attempt to lessen the amount of executions occurring. As time progresses, the amount of crimes will become too large for a single sovereign leader to handle. This sovereign leader puts a court in place with 3 trusted advisers in charge of these systems. When a crime is committed, the accused is brought before a panel of individuals who evaluate the situation and decide the fate of the person. Punishments can include death, imprisonment or forced labor. More time progresses and eventually one person takes the reigns of the entire government and begins to establish things that cannot be committed. This central figure will establish laws that state what you can and can't do in this society. If these new laws are broken, they will appear in a court and punishment will follow depending on he severity of the crime. Every couple of years a new central figure is elected into the head of office and they become in charge of the governing body. Years pass and another government transition occurs, this transition will create more laws and place more than one figure in charge of the government. At least 5 people will be placed in the head seat of the country, removing all power from one person and handing it to 5. Situations and decisions will be discussed among the 5 and a decision will eventually be met. This decision is then applied to the country based on if there is a negative or positive outcome from it.

    4. If one murders he/she will be put into jail for 10 to 20 years.
    5. In this stage If one murders he/she will be put into jail for the rest of his/her life.

  6. Country Name: United States of Aamareeka.

1st Stage of Law:Quid Pro Quo
-Theft: A citizen of my country went to a neighboring village and stole three ears of corn. A citizen of the neighboring village saw the woman taking the corn and decided to plot revenge. To show what it was like to be taken from, a group from the second village retaliated and stole sixty-four blades of grass from the other village. This can be described out of context as an "eye for an eye." If my country stayed in this type of governmental system, chaos would erupt.

2nd Stage of Law :Sovereign Takes Charge
-Power: A very powerful leader once ruled one of my villages with an iron fist. This leader was very good at punishing those who have committed some form of wrong doing. Most people loved him as a leader, because he was one who does not tolerate crime. People never locked their doors at night. One day this leader became very sick.He was replaced with someone with a completely different mindset when it came to being in charge of a village. This new leader never handed out any punishments which encouraged crime. People began locking their doors at all times of the day and night, and began adding more security to their homes. If my village continued to stay with this form of government, leaders would come and go and society would drastically change every time a new leader surfaced.

3rd Stage of Law: Court Systems
-Innocence and Guilt: After the mistake of having several different leaders changing the way society worked, I decided to create a new system of government, the court systems. These court systems were responsible for holding trials deciding who was write and who was wrong in arguments based on evidence brought about by the opposing party. It was discovered that this way of government was very effective when it came to who was at fault for an incident and who was innocent. It wasn't for several years until this system of government was no longer reliable. Citizens began to accuse people of false crimes just to have them imprisoned. People were creating false evidence and bribing fake witnesses to put innocent people in prison to get them out of society. I am not sure, as a ruler, who was placed in jail unfairly. It was when my own brother was accused of a false crime before I made the decision to change to another form of government.

    4th Stage of Law: Laws
-Not-Effective: I decided to try and control society with a firm hand by creating systems of laws. A law would be something that controls or stops someone from doing something with the fear of punishment for breaking said law. For example, a curfew law would require everyone to be off the street by a certain time, or the correct punishments would be set in place to punished the hypothetical person for breaking the law and not vacating the street before the set time outlined in the curfew law. This type of governmental system was very effective for a long time. People did not want to be punished and taken away from their families. It was not for a while that this type of system became inactive. People began committing crimes and not answering for them. People were breaking laws and erasing the evidence that a law was broken before any "law enforcement officer" could catch up to them. It was then I had the final straw and I introduced a new, revolutionary system of government.

    5th Stage of Law: Dictatorship
Punishment: With this stage of law, I decided to become the ruler of the entire country. No one is above me, and I have control of everyone and all of the governmental parties. With this system of government, I enacted groups of people responsible for making sure people behaved the way I wanted them to. Nothing happened without me giving the okay for it to occur. People were afraid to commit crime for fear of what I would do. Turns out, I only wanted to place a threat. The people, out of fear, began to act orderly, because they did not want to know the punishment, which in fact, was nothing the entire time. This system of government seems to work, for now.

  7. In the country of Emily we have four separate stages of law.The first one is revenge. For an example if someone hurts another person they can hurt you back because it's getting revenge.
2.) In the second stage of our country it would be rewarding the others by giving them goods if you stole something from them or if you hurt them you have to give up money to them.
3.) would be going to trial after stealing or hurting someone. To see when someone would go to trial for something.
4.) In our country for any harm that you do you will be automatically sent to trial and given a sentence for death or have something harmful to you if what you did was serious.
5.) The fifth law would be (not finished0

  8. In the early stages of Karsidentians there weren't set laws and there certainly wasn't anybody in charge. We took the law into our own hands. We took an eye for an eye. If someone killed a member of your family, you would go out and take a life of that person's family. And it would go on and on and on. We knew that the country wouldn't survive much longer. The population agreed that there should be at least a sovereign to take charge. Revenge over a crime committed would then be substituted for money or goods. But then people started to realize that money and goods would never replace a loved one and someone should be punished. Court systems were being used to help with the thefts and murders. But it didn't help too much because there weren't to many written laws. We got to the point were people wanted things back that were taken form them and people needed laws and court systems to prevent these things from happening and happening again. We also found that people in higher 'ranks' were getting away with murder. So we create another court system to properly prevent common laws to be broken.

  9. The name of my country will be Davidia. In stage one my country will apply an eye for an eye rule. Any wrong done to someone or their family will be legal to be returned. If Someone steals from you, than you may steal back from them. If a person is murdered than someone from their immediate family may kill the murderer. Eventually entering stage 2 Davidia will appoint certain people to be officers that will bring any law breakers to justice. this was necessary because the country began to become out of control. The officers that bring the law breakers to justice will be governed by a single man voted by the officers themselves. As officers carry out the laws that used to be carried out by citizens there will need to be a court system put into place. entering the third stage judges picked from the officers will be appointed and people will be given fair trials. The court will basically follow our same court system. To enter the last stage a president will have to be appointed by the people. once a president is appointed he will oversee all of the country's issues and intervene if necessary.him and his council will make the laws that will shape the new country. They will both prevent and punish the wrongs.

In My Country The revenge Policy is actually quite fair and is not bias what so ever. In the Country No matter what one person does to the other person, the person that got got must get back the person that got them. For example if someone steals something from you, the first stage gives the right to the victim to take something of equal value. In case of death The next person in line of the family, not the spouse, must kill the person that killed the person. If the person cannot do it the person must be executed. If it was an accidental killing, an investigation will be done but the person will be under 24/7 surveillance. If the person refuses he will be put in prison until he agrees to do the eye for an eye rule. There will be fining plus interest .If it is not payed within 2 years of ordering you will be sentenced to jail until you work off how much interest you have owned. The court System Will be a regular court system like Americas. Depending on the terms and the way my country is handling out within a 15 year span new laws will be made along with regular American Laws.

  12. My country's name is Islandia and there are four regions in this country (Atlantis, Bolva, Creedence & Davia)
    1. During the first stage, Islandia has no leader and is out of control. Once a crime is committed to one person, the person being wronged has the right to do the same back. A citizen from Atlantis has decided to steal a mass amount of money from a citizen of Creedence who is currently thriving with the selling of goods. Once this crime has been done the citizen of Creedence decides to kill their first born child as revenge for the loss of his money and the result of his family leaving him. This continues to happen and spreads once other citizens need certain things they cannot afford or cannot have.
    2. During this stage, a citizen from Davia, myself, decides to put an end to the madness and forms a system where is something good is done in a region of the country, they collect money and/or goods in return. I become the "leader" of Islandia and Davia is the capital. While everything starts to go fairly well for a while, I become overwhelmed and find that the amount of money and goods I can provide are slowly but surely withering away. If I don't decide to do something soon, the country will go back to stage one.
    3. In this stage, I choose to pick a person from each region who has well leadership skills. These four people will then be in charge of their own region and help develop a system where laws can be formed. Each person will choose 4 representatives to decide what laws are okay within their region and once they decide they will have to pass them through me if I think they are okay for the part of the country. Once a law is broken in that certain region, the leader and their representatives have to decide what their punishment is.
    4. In this stage, Islandia is currently doing a lot better. There is law in the country and crime is down in certain areas. However, I believe that the law should be the same in all regions of the country because it would be fair to everyone. I meet with all my 4 partners as well as each of their 4 representatives and we all decide what is right and just for each of our citizens in the country no matter where they live. With these laws in place, I am free to converse with other world leaders and do what is right for the country. If I have something that needs to be changed, I would have to go through every other person in my government to okay it before it can be put into effect.

  13. In my country if you steal from someone, they steal something from you. Both of you will keep stealing from each other because your always looking for an eye for an eye that will never end. Eventually it gets out of hand and you go to the police. The police make you pay that person $150 dollars and return all of he items that you stole, and you never get any of your stuff back. You don't like that idea. You don't want to pay the money and you want all of your stuff back.

  14. The country of Raktona-Maydohn is a very independent country. It is at extreme odds with its rival, Grem Aacteau. The latter decides to send fire crackers in the form of light bulbs to the former. The bulbs eventually get to Raktona-Maydohn's monarch, King Jobbles Ahk Zha-Duun XIX. The bulbs are set off, causing a panic in the city of Bluuk-Mao. Angered byKing Jobbles then acts in revenge by sending lamps that electrocute their users. This has waged on for decades since the 1890's. By the time 2014 arrives, the two countries eventually get tired and decide to pay each other off instead of acting violently towards each other. Politicians then turn to the elders of the government to settle the ongoing dispute between the countries. They have overall decided to lay down some laws to prevent any mischievous deeds and misdemeanors. Anyone who sends over harmful items over to Grem Aacteau will be fined $5,000 or more or be sentenced to 15 months of house arrest. This law can be voided if legally pardoned.

They wanted to make trades with Burakkurōzu but they refused and tried to brake all ties with shounetsujigoku but later on they sent in a small group of people to take some of the supplies but then Burakkurōzu found out what had happened and they planned to do the same thing to shounetsujigoku. This continues for about two months, but then it takes off to the next stage which is when Burakkurōzu issues to have a competition and who ever wins decides if the two countries should begin to trade among one another. The shounetsujigoku's win and they say that they should trade because they are close and would become good allies and by showing how serious they are they gave back everything they took from them in the past and even gave more back to them. This then takes off to the next stage which is making a court system and they agree to have a minshu court system, the system is controlled by the two representatives of both countries and with help from some elders and other higher up's. This is also when the final stage takes place and they begin to make laws that will benefit everyone and make sure that there will be no more stealing among the people and to keep a check on anyone who does wrong.

  17. Po-Kcalb is a small Peninsula connected to asia minor and the mediterranean sea. In 2014 it became its own country rebelling against the laws that restricted them before they gained independance. In the now lawless country, murder and theft were constant problems. Two famously large and rich families, the Mericks and the Heliashs, ended up wiping each other out. The two families were in charge of the only two banks in the country. The youngest son of his family, Jarvis Heliash, snuck into the Merick’s bank on christmas eve, stealing over 3/4ths of the banks money. When the Mericks found out, the took back their money and stole 3/4ths of the other banks wealth. The two families went at it until they both went bankrupt. Angered over the loss of his bank, father of 4, Walker Merick murdered 13 year old Jarvis. the Heliashs stormed the Merick’s home and killed Walker’s youngest child. The two families went back and forth until no one remained from either family.
By 2021 a religious leader of Po-Kcalb, Ganlo Ites, decided to settle the problem by using money as exchange. The value of the object stolen would be compensated by the family who took it. The more valuable a person was as a worker determined the amount a family got for the loss of a life. However, much of the nation’s money was lost in the bank war and a new system needed to be established.
Ganlo called upon the most responsible fellow he knew and built a council. when problems occurred in the country, citizens would travel to the council in order to solve the dispute. When Ganlo died in 2027, the work load increased at the council. The remaining members elected an new ruler, Ishem, who set up a system of laws not as restricting as the ones before. The laws were written, printed, and published in the news paper. More courts were built aside from the head council and cities were able to give themselves their own rules.
Since 2027, Po-Kcalb has been lead by Ishem who governs from the head council and establishes new laws and punishments as he sees fit.

  18. My countries name is Deetopianna, which has three regions (Dee, Topia, anna)
1.) Stage One,Eye for an Eye
In the region of Dee there are no rules in place but a lot of horrible crimes, just last week my neighbor got his horse stolen by one of those people in Topia. So my neighbor went over there and stole his daughter. I think he went a little over bord but that's what happened and no one did anything about it. Then yesterday I herd that someone from the region of anna stole a mans harvest from the region of Dee and in return his house was burnt down. Things are out of control things like this happen all the time. Which got me thinking what would be a better solution to Deetopianna's Maddness?
2.) Stage Two ,leader in charge
So you remember how last week I told you about how horrible my country was? well let me tell you what just happened to me, I just got my favorite pair of cow skinned shoes stolen by on of the people from the Topia region. So I went over there all pissed of and mad. When the guy saw me he was ready for me to take something from him, he didn't even try to stop me, but I knew I had a chance to change things and make them better so I told him that my shows cost 5 gold coins and that's all I wanted from him. At first he was confused, but then he gave me my gold coins and I went on my way. Apparently I was a big hit in Topia and in the other two regions as well. Then I was asked to be a leader of Deetopianna and come up with more great ideas... and me being an idiot accepted the leadership.
    3.) Stage Three, court system
Things are going good but I am only 18 and everyone wants me to solve their problems all the time from all three regions. I am getting no sleep between the traveling from region to region and trying to solve everyone's problems. So I decide to invite my friend heather over from Topia and my other friend Alyssa over from Anna. I tell them that they need to develop a court system of the top ten people in their region, that when I crime is committed that person must explain why they did it and what was done, and those ten people must listen and decide what should happen, and if they cannot decide then all three regions come together and decide what happens to that person.
    4.) Stage four, Preventing crimes
Now Deetopianna is a much better place to live, Although there was a problem last week when I discovered that not every region has the same punishment for each crime. For example In the region of Anna a man stole a little girls bike and was sentence to work off the payment of the bike, the same crime was committed in Topia an the man was sentenced to 20 years in jail! so I had to tell all three regions that for each crime we must have the same punishment, So all regions citizens are treated fairly. I also came up with some new laws to prevent crimes from happening in the first place and it seems to be working really well.
    5.) Stage Five Dictatorship
Sadly I hit my head and fell into a comma , and now there is an Evil man named Mike in charge and he decides to get rid of all of my courts system, Now any crime that is committed he and he alone decided what happens weather its to be hung, enslaved , or thrown in jail! Deetopianna citizens now just live in fear for their lives and everyone is scared to committee any type of crime...I wouldn't recommend you come here for vacation.
