  1. I agree with this decision. It provides further motivation for parents to control their child and take part in raising their child better. As a result, the children will be better motivated to stop their bullying if they know their parents are taking an interest in what they're doing in school. The parents are the most important people in resolving conflicts and preventing them, so it makes sense to bring them into a resolution of bullying.

  2. I do agree with this decision because harassment of another individual on multiple occasions should come with consequences. A lot of school districts find it difficult to stop kids from bullying other kids. Some school districts barely make an effort to put an end to the bullying situations. Instead of the victims suing the school district, they should be able to sue the bully depending on the severity of the harassment.

  3. I agree with this decision because it helps keep bullies from bullying others and protects the victims and other potential victims from having to go through such an ordeal. In the article it says that, "it also delivers a strong message that parents may be held legally liable when their children taunt, tease or physically harass classmates". I like this decision because it shows that parents need to take responsibility and action if they know of any bullying behavior. This will push parents to become more active on bullying and not ignore it or disregard it as child's play because no one wants to be sued because of their kid's nasty behavior.

  4. I agree with this decision. It strengthens the already existing New Jersey Anti-Bullying Law. This provides further action to help prevent kids to bully their peers. Meanwhile, this also includes the parents. This is helping urge the parents to get involved with their child to help avoid getting into a bad situations with the school and its peers.

  5. i do not agree with the decision. although i do agree that it is the parents responsibility to make sure that their child is behaving well. i don't think that schools should be able to sue students because there will be hundreds of misunderstandings within school systems. if anything it should stay the same, just the victim possibly taking action against the bully.

  6. I Agree, because parents are supposed to teach their children right from wrong such as bullying a person for being or looking different from what their child think is normal. And a lawsuit will get some attention hopefully enough for people to change

  7. I don't agree because, any and everything is bullying today, They shouldn't be able to sue kids that cant even be sued, That means that the parents will have to pay the money and it is not their fault. The kids should just be punished themselves and no one should not be able to get sued.

  8. i agree because no child deserves to be picked on and the person that's picks on them doesn't get a consequence its just not right more schools need to stop letting weak willed students get bullied

  9. i agree but at the same time you cant sue the student the most they could do is give him a fine though anything else would have to go to the parents of the student who is bullying.

  10. Schools should not be able to sue students. Schools should take responsibility and control/punish the students as they have done (detention, suspension, expulsion). Parents may be unaware of how a child behaves in school and the child may not care that their parents are paying for his mistake. Kids need to feel the punishment of their mistakes and the parents can't take the fall for him. Schools shouldn't support bullying laws but not follow up and execute them, then take it to an extreme and sue the student. They need to stop it while its small.

  12. I agree with the decision because bullying should not be permitted at all. This helps o lower the amount of bullying that is taking place and finally giving kids an environment to feel safe in. This also urges parents or guardians to take more action in their children's lives.

  13. I Agree with this article. There should never be any bulling and people should never get made fun of. It hurts people in so many different ways.

  14. I disagree with this. No matter how serious the consequences kids will still bully other kids. For kids under 18 their parents would be held responsible for the actions of their children. Although parents should teach their kids how to be respectful to others, however parents cannot control their kids 24/7.

  15. I agree because its not right for students who can't protect themselves to be picked on and then the one whose at fault never gets in trouble for it more school need to enforce the no bullying law so other kids don't get picked on.

  16. I have pros and cons with this decision. Some pros would be that it would open up the doors for some victims of bulling. It could help even the bully settle something within him/her. Cons, if a minor is sued for something like that their parents are then held responsible for that. Parents shouldn't be held responsible for things that their kids do. Especially if the parents try to address the situation.

  17. I agree with this because harassing another student is not acceptable no matter what the case is. Sometimes the parent or guardian should be blamed for not showing their child the right path to growing up. They should raise their child the right way

  18. I agree with this because it is enforcing the bullying laws more than how they are already being dealt with. This delivers a strong message toawrds the children and their parents because bullying shouldnt even happen in the first place or at all, this is an also a good decision becuase it teaches the children that there are real consequnces that can happen to the victim or the bully after anything happens.
There is 34,538 suicides in 2013. Suicide is one of the leading causes of death to teenagers besides car accidents. Bullying can cause depression, self harm, self hate, anxiety, and psychological disorders as well. Most kids don't go to school because of them being bullied. This is why I think that this action should be taken for even the slightest bit of bullying or harrasment. From experiencing bullying I strongly agree with this.
